cover design by

art directory + visual designer

emmy truong a brooklyn-based art director and graphic designer, has carved out a unique niche in the design world with her captivating illustrations and creative process.

born and raised in the cultural hub of hanoi, truong's journey into graphic design was sparked by a serendipitous art class in 2016, redirecting her from a path destined for medical practice.

truong's artistic journey began at a young age, encouraged by her mother to embrace her creativity. as a child, truong created whimsical depictions of family members, folklore, and anything that caught her attention. during these formative years, truong fell in love with the act of creation, setting her on a lifelong path as an artist.

her creative process is rooted in storytelling, starting each project by identifying a compelling anecdote. truong then brings these stories to life through mood boards, research, and sketching, drawing inspiration from various sources, including fine art and philosophy.

while truong has dabbled in various creative pursuits, including photography and production, her heart always returns to illustration. for her, art is a form of self-expression and observation, allowing her to understand people and the world around her.

ultimately, truong's goal is simple yet profound: to capture and share the abundant joy in everyday moments. through her art, she seeks to celebrate the human experience and inspire others to find beauty in the world around them.
